Our master craftsman and business partner ( Jose Castro) is the head of our woodwork shop ART Woodwork. He is in his early fifties and has over 35 years of furniture and cabinet making experience from the “Capital of Furniture” in the north of Portugal.

There and for 30 years, he built some of his best pieces of furniture ordered by the most famous galleries in Europe. See our FURNITURE page.

Have arrived from Portugal in the late 90's, where he had been a furniture maker from the age of 11 when first started his apprenticeship in a local shop, he met Jorge while Jorge was a project manager for International Millwork.  Castro has always been in great demand by other custom millwork shops and worked in many residential and commercial projects in the NY/NJ markets.

Finally, in 2009, Castro and Jorge crossed paths again and as the opportunity arose, they decided to combine their skills, abilities and experiences and form "Oliveira & Castro LLC", doing business as "ART WOODWORK.

Castro brings with him a huge amount of experience in woodwork as well as skills and talent not easily found in these days any longer. Castro is a true "old school Master craftsman".
