Jorge Oliveira is a partner and the principal of Art-Woodwork. He is married to is wife of 26 years and are parents to an adopted daughter.
Self motivated & creative individual who has been self employed for the last 7 years as a provider of high end woodwork home interiors, furniture repair and home maintenance and repair.
Born and raised in Portugal where he was exposed at an early age to the art of woodworking and home building through is father, a wood craftsman and builder himself. As a young man, he remembers learning from his father as he catered to the needs of large and luxury homes in the city of Coimbra, Portugal. A university city with very affluent with wealthy neighborhoods. It was there that he learned from his father, not only the skills and good work ethics, but also how to respect other people and their properties.
His family came to this country from Portugal in 1981. His father soon started his own cabinet and home improvement business.
After attending Essex County College, Jorge chose to continue in the family’s long tradition of caring to the needs of affluent people in NJ and NY to keep their homes in optimum condition by means of property management, maintenance, repair and improvements, both interior and exteriors of building structures as well as grounds.
In 1992, after his father’s retirement, he attended the Plaza School of Technology for Architectural Interior Drafting and Design and then Kean University for certification as a Computer Aided Design & Graphics Specialist with the objective to move into design and management.
Between the year 1992 and 2005 Jorge held a few engineering and management positions in the Architectural millwork industry where he engineered and project managed large commercial projects throughout the NY metropolitan area. Millwork projects such us NBC Studios, AT&T, Princeton University, USGA Headquarters, Mount Sinai Hospital, Columbia University, etc, for developers such general contractors such us Hartz Mountain Industries, Turner Construction, Structure Tone, Torcon, Morse Diesel, HRH, Sordoni-Skanski, etc.
In 2005 Jorge moved his family to Milford, PA and became self-employed in the custom architectural millwork by providing drafting services to nationwide millwork firms, and used the opportunity to lunch an apprenticeship program for young people at risk.
As the opportunity arose, in 2009 Jorge got together with Castro, and old friend and craftsmen that had worked for Jorge while a project manager for International Millwork, and decided to combine their skills, abilities and experiences and form "Oliveira & Castro LLC", doing business as "ART WOODWORK.
